Despite the obvious unpopularity of the most recent lyrics quiz, I’m forging ahead, Dick-Cheney-style, along my predetermined, if ultimately futile, path. Thankfully, we’ve reached the end of this particular theme, because they’ve run out of Now! albums.
Today we present lyrics taken from the music compilation Now That’s What I Call Music!, volumes 21 through 27.
Answers to last week’s quiz can be found after the link.
This week’s entries:
- And what the hell is on Joey’s head?
- I said no, no, you’re not the one for me
- “I want you on my team.” “So does everybody else”
- Summer came like cinnamon: so sweet
- She’s like so whatever
- Superman!
- She’s too big, now she’s too thin
Here are last week’s answers. You’ll notice a few cover songs in the mix; the best chance I have of knowing the lyrics for a song release in this century is for it to be a remake of a song made in the last century.
- ‘Cause I’ve built my life around you.
Dixie Chicks, Landslide - You couldn’t get this color if you had a personal genie
Nelly, Air Force Ones - Come out of things unsaid, shoot an apple off my head
Coldplay, Clocks - You missed a spot over there
Fountains of Wayne, Stacey’s Mom - A kid on the way, a family on my mind
Five For Fighting, 100 Years - What’s cooler than bein’ cool?
OutKast, Hey Ya! - Free your inner soul and break away from tradition
Black Eyed Peas, Let’s Get It Started - I feel so dirty when they start talking cute
Frickin-A, Jesse’s Girl - A few times, I’ve been around that track
Gwen Stefani, Hollaback Girl - But I know she ain’t gonna wanna share
